I just returned from South America where I learned about different cultures, language, farming, and food!
I've been travelling a lot lately, this recent trip with another CSer Jesse Houle. We explored the US, Mexico, Peru, Bolivia, Argentina, and Uruguay, and Chile, using no money for a portion of the trip which gave us a new perspective on things. Before that I was on a solo trip where I explored Canada and the states in my camperized van.
I just started a big garden which I plan to focus on this summer. One day I'd like to have a small organic farm and do as much self-sustained living as possible. I like the idea of communal living but with enough space for myself. I often daydream about food.
I am vegetarian - people ask this a lot so I thought I'd add it here. :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Sometimes I crash on people's couches, sometimes I let them crash on mine, and usually I follow other couchsurfers on spontaneous adventures. This site has lead me to experience lots of new perspectives, amazing stories, and crazy good times. It's also been a reminder of just how wonderful and generous the world can be if you open yourself to it.
Veggies, fruit, organic farming, travelling, ukulele-ing, piercing, snowboarding, hanging with friends, parties, concerts, festivals, hula hooping, relationships, polyamory, learning languages, sewing, warm weather, reading, writing songs, writing other things, sleeping, cooking, living.
Music, Movies, and Books
I like most kinds of music, especially live, but usually listen to indie/rock/alternative/folk.
The novels I read tend to involve unusual relationships. For non-fiction I collect books on polyamory and food but never end up reading them. If I'm reading online it's mostly random useless things. If I'm reading the newspaper it's probably the horoscope - totally legit.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Having the beaches of Ios to ourselves, hanging out with wild cats, and being the start of a spontaneous party when we thought we were the only visitors on the island.
Teach, Learn, Share
Want to play ukulele with me? I'm trying to be less shy with it. I'm also working on my Spanish.
I'm happy to share anything you want to know about Vancouver, or any of the western hemisphere really.
I love talking about why we're here and what we're doing with it. I like discussing different perspectives on the world.
Did you know you can reuse leftover pickle juice to pickle other things you have lying around? If you don't drink it first, that is.
