About Me

Currently I'm exploring South America, hopefully learning more about the land, people, languages, wine, and farms!

I've been travelling a lot lately - sometimes by myself, sometimes with friends. Right now I'm with another CSer Jesse Houle. We've explored Peru, Bolivia, Argentina, and Uruguay, and now we're excited for our last country, Chile, before returning to Peru for our last few days here.

I pet cats (but sadly, cannot hyperlink anymore. www.jesspetscats.com).

We are using little to no money on this adventure, which has given us a new perspective on things.

I am vegetarian - people ask this a lot so I thought I'd add it here. :)

When we get back I'd like to have a big garden/small veggie farm and do as much self-sustained living as possible. I like the idea of communal living but with enough space for myself. Sometimes (often) I daydream about food.

Why I'm on Couchsurfing

Sometimes I crash on people's couches, sometimes I let them crash on mine, and usually I follow other couchsurfers on spontaneous adventures. This site has lead me to experience lots of new perspectives, amazing stories, and crazy good times. It's also been a reminder of just how wonderful and generous the world can be if you open yourself to it.

Veggies, fruit, organic farming, travelling, ukulele-ing, piercing, snowboarding, hanging with friends, parties, concerts, festivals, hula hooping, relationships, polyamory, learning languages, sewing, warm weather, reading, writing songs, writing other things, sleeping, cooking, living.

Music, Movies & Books

I like most kinds of music, especially live, but usually listen to indie/rock/alternative/folk.

The novels I read tend to involve unusual relationships. For non-fiction I collect books on polyamory and food but never end up reading them. If I'm reading online it's mostly random useless things. If I'm reading the newspaper it's probably the horoscope - totally legit.

One Amazing Thing I've Done

Having the beaches of Ios to ourselves, hanging out with wild cats, and being the start of a spontaneous party when we thought we were the only visitors on the island.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have my ukulele with me if you'd like to play with me! I'm trying to be less shy with it. I'm also working on my Spanish.

I'm happy to share anything you want to know about Vancouver, or now any province really, and a lot of the states.

I love talking about why we're here and what we're doing with it. I like discussing different perspectives on the world.

Did you know you can reuse leftover pickle juice to pickle other things you have lying around? If you don't drink it first, that is.
