ABOUT ME

I'm just someone who likes fun and adventure. I don't seem to fit any one demographic or group; my outlook and lifestyle certainly doesn't seem to fit "my" age group. I like to see new places, meet new people, and try new foods. Life is one big education and adventure if you approach it that way.

PHILOSOPHY

People are more the same than they are different. Life is to be lived, experienced, enjoyed. Laughter is a drug that you never seem to get enough of.

So far just local socially around DC, but I hope to change that soon and expand my ability to host and surf.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So far I've only socialized with people through CouchSurfing.org, I only recently joined. Previously I just Couch Surfed the old fashioned way crashing with old roommates and friends; or people I met in my travels. But I'm looking forward to trying this web based version for travel (or hopefully hosting soon).

Interests

Outdoor activities: hiking, camping, sea/touring kayaking, boating, fishing. TRAVEL. Museums, art galleries; cooking and eating; music and dancing; urban hikes looking at people and architecture.

Music, Movies, and Books

MUSIC: I have the most diverse musical taste of anyone I have ever met. I enjoy everything from local folk music: African, Tuvan, Middle Eastern; classical, opera, jazz, bosa nova, samba, bluegrass, etc. through rock, punk, metal, techno, house, electronica, etc.

BOOKS: I like to read non-fiction like Stranger in the Forest. Or fiction with a sarcastic sense of humor too like most Kinky Friedman novels, or Chis Moore's books like Blood Sucking Fiends, or You Suck: A Love Story.

MOVIES: Too numerous to list. Classics like Casablanca, or screw-ball (1930's) comedies like Arsenic and Old Lace. Just spitting movie titles off the top of my head: Princess Bride, Blazing Saddles, Blade Runner, Run Lola Run, Hurt Locker.... Seven Samurai, Ran, Down By Law, Ghost Dog, Chasing Amy, Clerks, I could just go on and on.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Sea Kayaked with a pod dolphins; watched the launch of several spacecraft from the Kennedy Space Center (Cape Canaveral, FL).... I'll have to think about this one some more.
