Overview
About Me
Hello ! My name is Jean-Francois, I am French and I have been living in Rio for 12 years. I am a university professor (anthropologist) and I have spent the last 10 years traveling to humanitarian crises as an advisor for Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF). I am passionate about my hometown, Rio de Janeiro, and as a host, I look forward to sharing this passion. My house is big enough and totally planned for social life and receiving friends. I'm looking for open-minded, non-conservative hosts who like to talk about things and enjoy life.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
As I said, my house is big enough, very well located, with 2 floors, 3 terrasses, jacuzzi, a beautiful view on the Sugar Loaf. It would be a waste no to share!
Music, Movies, and Books
Eclectic: Brazilian music of all kind, music from jazz to electro. I myself play the guitar and the violin. A hobby is to shazam music in the street everywhere I travel.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
As humanitarian advisor, I travelled to all the major crisis over the last decade. 2021 was Ebola in Congo, Sexual violence in Zimbabwe, 3 times in Donbass (Ukraine) and the migration crisis at the Mexican northern border. #intenselife. So when I'm home, it is about enjoying life and relaxing.
Teach, Learn, Share
Well...an anthropologist has a very special way of looking at Brazilian culture which I would be glad to share.
