My mission is to become a Renaissance woman by experiencing, learning, and growing in a way that could not be possible in a stationary state of mind or being.

ABOUT ME

My name is Jenae Golden from New Mexico in the United States. I was born and raised in Las Cruces, and have been dying to see the world since I was 13 years old. Throughout high school I danced ballet, tap, and jazz, as well as held a part time job. I have been saving up money since then to be able to take the current journey I am on to Europe. I go to New Mexico State University and am majoring in Marketing and Psychology. I plan to graduate in May of 2012, and will then take my studies to (hopefully) the Univeristy of Texas in Austin.

I am very involved with my university as the Director of Community Outreach with the student government. With this job, I organize large scale community service projects for the students of NMSU to participate in. I am also currently the President of my sorority, Zeta Tau Alpha, and have a deep passion for what my organization stands for. I love being involved, experiencing new things, and meeting amazing people along the way. That is exactly why I decided to join Couch Surfing. There is not a single better way to travel, see the world, and grow than to do it by completely throwing yourself into the culture of which you are staying. I am currently studying for the summer in Finland, and will be traveling to the South of Europe for an adventure at the conclusion of my studies.

I am just starting my CS experience, but since I learned about the program, have spread the word to many other exchange students. They are all now looking into becoming members themselves.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love science fiction, romance, comedy, coming of age stories, and historic fiction. As for music, I want to listen to anything and everything I have never heard, but for day to day listening, I enjoy everything from hip-hop, country, and pop. For movies, it is much easier to say what I do not like, and that is scary movies!
