About Me
CURRENT MISSION
MAKTUB. It is written. Vamos a vivir la vida con todo que se puede!
ABOUT ME
I am a loud and proud Chicana (Mexican-American) currently employed by the Ministry of Education in Spain as an English teacher in the Andalusia region. I LOVE teaching and working with my students but another part of my mission while I'm here is: ADVENTURE. Exploring new places, hiking, meeting new people with diverse backgrounds (BEWARE: I love asking questions, nothing too personal, but I enjoy learning about where you come from and your outlooks on the world), participating in various cultural events, eating :], and tackling anything that comes my way!!I am always available for a smile and will do my best to bring one out of you, too ;]QUE VIVA LA GENTE!
PHILOSOPHY
"An education that teaches you to understand something about the world has done only half of the assignment. The other half is to teach you to do something about making the world a better place."
- Johnnetta B. Cole

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
In the States I created a research project at my university investigating barriers, obstacles, and experiences of undocumented students in higher education in southern California. The project is still currently being carried out as I am teaching abroad, but it is one of my proudest works and I miss being apart of it everyday.
