About Me
Hey, there :) I'm a bit of a late bloomer to solo-travel. When I hit my 30's I thought, "What the hell - let's go live this life!" I'm so fortunate to have met many kind hosts so far.
While I started my career off in painting, teaching and nonprofit work, I transitioned to the tattoo industry a few years ago. It's been my most unexpected adventure so far and I love it. Making classical art to live in has been a gift and a delight to share with others.
Outside of the easel, I'm into learning any new skill, showering animals with affection, dancing like nobody's watching, and spending quality time with good souls. A life of beauty, friendship, and happy accidents is a good one.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music is my lifeblood. I love everything from classical to trip hop.
Most of my library consists of art instructional books and collections of Renaissance drawings, but I also enjoy a good piece of prose. N.K. Jemison's Broken Earth trilogy is one that I recommend to anyone who loves sci-fi.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
In 2019 I read a blog post about a group of artists that were planning to paint their way across the country. By taking the Amtrak train one stop down the tracks each day, they'd make their way from Chicago to San Francisco over the course of a couple weeks. When I saw that the route went through Colorado, I got to work.
The night before, I packed my art supplies, an armful of clothes, and other scant supplies into a backpack. In the morning, I drove four hours to intercept them in Trinidad. "Hello, I'm Jhenn - I know this isn't a public trip, but I'm going to follow along for as long as I can!" And then I became the unofficial documenter, taking photos and writing about the experience for the rest of the journey.
Even though I was rubbing nickles together and got into a couple of tight spots (like running out of train fare or getting creative with places to sleep), it was such a great experience. I saw America at slow speed and spent time appreciating towns no one's ever heard of. And, it introduced me to Couchsurfing!
