Hi, there! I'm a bit of a late bloomer - I only started solo traveling in my 30s. I'm so fortunate to have met so many kind and special hosts

Although I started off in painting, teaching and nonprofit work, I began training as a tattoo artist a few years ago. What a ride it's been! I especially love doing fine art renditions as tattoos

I love animals (I have 2 dogs and 2 cats - they don't travel) and music (I used to play a few instruments, but it's been a while). Someday I'll learn to bake bread

I love a good fantasy, sci-fi, martial arts, really so many. Poetic, beautiful movies are my favorite - I'm a dreamer at heart

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In 2019, I read about a group of artists that were going to paint their way across the country, riding the Amtrak train 1 stop per day to see little known towns. They were due to pass through Colorado and I figured I could meet and join them at their stop

The night before I packed my sketchbook and some clothes. In the morning, a friend and I drove the 4 hours to intercept the group. They werent expecting any newcomers, but they quickly warmed to me and let me tag along. I was on my own, rubbing pennies and relying on the kindness of strangers, but I ended up having the most incredible adventure (even with the anxiety of planning as I went and the occasional mishap). For two weeks, I was free. I'm still in touch with many of the folks I met along the way

I'm grateful that this experience introduced me to Couchsurfing
