About Me
Hello there fellow surfers!
I am a Canadian student nurse who loves to spend her spare time (and student loan money) travelling to other countries and meeting lovely new people!
One of my favorite ways to enjoy a new place is through food: I will plan whole trips around certain meals and food experiences, and really enjoy learning about food culture.
When I'm not out traveling, I am pouring myself into school, in pursuit of that little piece of paper that means I am an official registered nurse. I plan on using my degree to become a travel nurse once I graduate. And don't worry; I don't usually bring all my gear to practice skills on unsuspecting couch hosts :)
I live with my boyfriend in our little home in Calgary, Alberta, Canada (Home of the Calgary Stampede!) and are about an hour's drive from the beautiful Rocky Mountains. You would think that would mean we are outdoorsy people, but that is just not the case. I'll choose a pint of beer and a good meal over a hike, any day.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
In a nutshell, I want to be able to enjoy the beautiful experience of travel without having to spend an unbelievable amount of money, and I also want to extend the same opportunity to others. I have stayed with hosts in Portugal, Spain, and Ireland, and have had nothing but great experiences so far!
Also, as many other surfers have mentioned, I value the interaction with people that you just don't get when staying in a hotel. I have a bit of a hippie mentality, and I think that we have a special community as travelers that is worthy of our time and effort to support!

Music, Movies, and Books
Favorite Music: I listen to mostly Hip Hop, Electronic, and Indie/Folk music, but will really listen to almost anything!
Favorite Movie: Shaun of the Dead / Anything by the Coen Bros or Wes Anderson
Favorite Books: Guns, Germs, & Steel / White Oleanders / On Killing / The Lucifer Effect / Subliminal
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I won first prize in the science fair in 7th grade for my project on Tornadoes.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I would love to hear what people from other countries would like to see/hear about/try from Canada! I would be more than willing to bring something (so long as it fits in a stuffed backpack!). I am NOT willing to smuggle beavers or igloo blocks, as they are temperamental and heavy, respectively.
Besides this, I can share time, stories, food, drink and fun with whoever is willing to accept them!
