Off to New Zealand!

ABOUT ME

Unfortunately, I can't host right now since I'm on the road! Taking a year (probably longer) trip around the world! After 17 years behind a desk, the two week allotted vacations weren't cutting it anymore. So I quit to see as much as I can until my little backpackers budget runs out!

I was: an Art Director for cool licensed merchandise. Nickelodeon, Hasbro Toys & DC/Marvel are some of my clients! I've been in this biz for over 15 yrs.

I am: a Chocolatier- attempting to make my life sweeter than it already is! I have professional training and plan to do some more training while on the road!

Yogi-surviving the above with a little bit of calm.

Risk Taker Extraordinaire-within the limits of the law, of course!

I can have a conversation with your Grandma longer than you thought possible; that is to say I'm polite, a bit old fashioned and just sassy enough.

I'm very allergic mushrooms. I try to avoid soy and gluten, as they don't quite agree with me. Generally, I eat fairly healthy and either vegetarian or meat meals are fine. I can cook and bake quite well either from scratch or from a recipe. Plus, I'll eat just about anything if it's covered in chocolate.

I'm a non-smoker and I don't do drugs. I don't drink much at all-meaning I'll have a glass of wine or a beer every couple of months or so. Going out for drinks every night isn't quite my idea of a fun night out. I'd rather do candlelight yoga, go to a symphony or improve comedy show!

I'm an early to bed, early to rise schedule. If your job requires you to be up at 5am, I will be quiet as a mouse the night before if I happen to be up later.

I don't have farcebook. I know, how old fashioned am I?! However, I occasionally tweet and have a blog. I just earned back some cool points, right?! Ask and ye shall receive.

I'm coming from a bed bug free home and I'd hope yours is as well!

I speak English and a teeny bit of French, of which I'd love to learn much more of!

I've been told I have a green thumb. I make collages and paint in my free time. Any crafts or costume fun I love making things for! I love people who can have an intelligent conversation at length and those who are good storytellers.

I'm an open book, but a very long read. Any questions, please ask!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm pretty perky in the morning! If you show me how to use your coffee maker, I'll make you the best eye-opening cup of coffee you've ever had!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So far so good, they've been very positive! Plus, I've stayed in several friends of friends of friends homes over the many years I've been traveling. Also a huge fan of b&b's -specifically the one with the word "air" in front of it when I need a bit more privacy.

Una cosa incredibile che ho fatto

-Sunrise in Vancouver from the 26th floor. Woah.
-Day hike by myself on Waiheke Island, New Zealand brought me to tears-happy ones-at the beauty of the landscape!
-Didn't fall off a cliff in Hawaii while trying to K-Turn, inch by inch on a one way road that was barely as wide as my tiny car!
