ABOUT ME

Hi!

I'm Jillian, but you can call me Jill. I'm a student at the University of Maryland, College Park (USA), but this semester I'm currently studying abroad in the tame, gentle city of Pamplona in Navarre, Spain.

I love traveling and this is my first time in Europe so naturally I'm eager to explore. I'm really friendly and love having fun. While I can't speak Spanish fluently I can understand what people are saying for the most part. I'm really looking forward to meeting you!

PHILOSOPHY

- No matter what happens today, the sun will rise tomorrow for a new beginning.

- Don't sweat the small things in life.

Life is a very intriguing thing to me. I'm not quite sure what to make of it. But while I'm living and trying to figure it out, I'll be making the most of it!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I was sitting in a computer lab one day when I was talking to a friend about traveling to Belgium and what sites I should see! He mentioned Couchsurfing and after explaining it to me, I was hooked. I was waiting for a time to expand this project!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have never couchsurfed before at all!

Intereses

I really like the beach.
I really like Artwork (but not contemporary), I know a little about Avant-garde and things like that.
I really like learning about culture and traditions.
I really like dancing.
I really like food (who doesn't?!)
But I LOVE Theatre. Theatre is definitely my passion.

Música, películas y libros

I really like "To Kill A Mockingbird", but my favorite book is "Their Eyes Were Watching God," because I feel like I identify a lot with the main character, Janie.

As far as music goes, I am pretty mainstream: Beyonce, Katy Perry, Kelly Clarkson, Jonas Brothers, One Direction, Jay-Z&Kanye collaborations... and of course SHOWTUNES!

As I mentioned, I love Theatre and performing. I have performed at the Hippodrome Theatre in Baltimore, which is a professional theatre where touring Broadway companies have visited.

Just being in the spotlights was so exhilarating, and seeing everyone clapping in their seats was just so fulfilling.

I have a pretty good sense of direction and eyesight! And while I'm not the best at reading a map, if I am looking around I can usually find my way around within a short while.

But if I had to list something, I would recommend stepping outside of your comfort zone; try new foods, don't be afraid to meet people, and most importantly try your best to keep an open, positive mind.
