I am Jim. I like to travel around and learn about the world around me, and meet the people in that world. I believe in the spirit of helping other people. I am a big fan of bike riding, everywhere I go I just want to ride! I am a vegan, and I love cooking tasty food. If you take me to the forest I will be happy. I enjoy hiking and foraging for mushrooms as well!

I have used couchsurfing indirectly for many years via the people I traveled with, now I think it makes sense for me to make an account of my own. I love the system and I want to get involved hosting when I am able!

My favorite music changes from time to time. I really love Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, Alt-J, Francis Bebey, The Divine Comedy, and Gogol Bordello, for example. Otherwise I really tend to like music that makes me feel good inside. That normally consists of most genera that start with the letters psy: -cedelic rock, -trance, -ambient, -chedelic folk. I also like jazz and instrumental music. I like a lot of world music and fusion music as well.

My top films are, in no particular order: Amélie, Perfume, The Big Lebowski, Tarantino films, Cohen Brothers, and many more that I cannot remember at this moment. Oh, does Game of Thrones count as a film? Ok. Well, that too (except the last season...)! Also Rick and Morty!

My favorite books are the ones where I either learn something new every page, or can't stop laughing. I like to rotate these two, although recently I have been reading a lot more non-fiction than light funny stories.

I am a bike mechanic, vegan cook, biologist, political thinker and activist, feminist ally, mushroom forager, native English speaker, second Spanish speaker. I am happy to teach or share any of this with anyone who wants it. Learning is learning. I will take it as it comes!
