ABOUT ME

We are a not-so-newly-married couple living in a lovely flat right in the centre of NewcastleGateshead. Jim is studying for a dental degree and is also a surgeon, and Marika is studying for a PhD in theology.

We love meeting new people, and feeding them, and generally spreading joy by the gift of generosity. Also, we are becoming increasingly adept (for an English couple) at accepting generosity when it is offered!

We're a 10 minute walk from the centre of Newcastle, and also from Newcastle train station; we're 5 minutes walk from Gateshead city centre.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We're super keen to host people from time to time (we've got an airbed and a very comfy sofa). We'd also love to couchsurf through the wonder of Europe: as long as people are happy to accommodate a couple :-)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We've hosted various lovely people from all over the world - we've fed and watered them, and packed them off on their merry way after lovely chats, cuppas and even sneaky glasses of Whisky on occasion. We loved the chance to get to meet people from different cultures.

Jim regularly helps in operations that cure people of cancer. Does that count?

Teach, Learn, Share

Jim's a doctor so has all sorts of useful medical knowledge, and might even be able to diagnose any minor illnesses you have. Marika is a theology student, which is less useful, but she's always happy to talk about it if you're interested (and even sometimes if you're not).

Jim can teach people how to play Chess and Go, if they're interested in those sorts of things, whilst Marika is a seamstress extraordinaire.

Finally, but most crucially, is food. We're both lovers of fine dining, and have been known to rustle up wonderful treats for all comers - please feel free to ask us for the recipes, and feel even freer to give us your favourite/local/Mum's finest recipe, or - Glory of Glories - cook it for us yourself!
