I would describe myself easy to get along with, eager to find the fun in all situations and quick to offer assistance where and when I can. I play and coach hockey, make fitness and being active a priority, and enjoy finding new experiences and skills in all that I do.

I am relatively late to the world travel game but intend to make up for lost time ASAP. First it was a couple trips to compete in Spartan races. Last year I spent a week hiking around Utah and doubled my time spent camping - usually bivying on canoe trips. I was fortunate to spend Christmas 2019 traveling through Germany, Austria and Switzerland. It was sensationally beautiful and my fantastic time there included meeting some outrageously kind and generous people who let me crash on their couches.

I'd love to host some like minded people so I can build up a stock pile of places I should go see with the faces and names to reinforce why!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm interested in experiencing more of the world, either through my own travels or vicariously through those I meet and interact with.

Everyone can use a hand along the way and I'm hoping to have the satisfying opportunity of helping someone out in anticipation of looking for help from others myself in the future.

Music, Movies, and Books

Far too many to list but I am an avid reader of a wide variety of genres.

Since I don't have a TV, I tend not to sit through too many movies; but I'll never turn down a James Bond viewing.

An eclectic music fan, I'm based in classic rock but delight in voyages in progressive and jazz, a quick saunter into time honoured country, and some fumbling my way through the blues from time to time.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Took off to Utah for a week and hiked around a number of stunning locales. Climbing up Angel's Landing in a snow storm at 5 am was a major personal achievement and was well worth the weight of the celebration beer I brought along!

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm a physical education and wood shop teacher, paddling instructor, yoga instructor, volunteer firefighter, commercial fisherman, jack of many trades and revel in the idea of being able to teach someone and help them experience success.

I try to question lots and am genuinely eager to try just about anything once. And some things twice!

I haven't a great deal of world travel experience to share but am keen to boost my knowledge in that department and see couch surfing as an ideal way to do so.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I live just off the busiest highway in Nova Scotia in the Provincial hub town of Truro in a two bedroom apartment. I work a fair distance away from my house, but am often able to juggle schedules to lend a hand with transportation or to join an adventure.

I have the world’s most comfortable couch in its own room for a delightful snooze to offer, as well as the comfiest couch going, a washer and dryer, wifi, lots of grub up for grabs and an ideal spot to jump off from for the next leg of your journey.
