Sobre mí

I'm not a cowboy. That's my dads hat. The pic came out kinda cool so I use it now and then. I'm gonna jabber on for a while, you can skip to the bottom to get answers from me you won't get from a current boyfriend. I'm an open book. They are numbered, below all the jib-jab.

I'm traveling a lot for work. My home is Denver.
I'm about to embark on an 11 week job in Idaho. It will get me caught up on a couple bills, I work for myself but my client is "the man" when it comes down to brass tacks. I usually hate doing work for clients this large. But those bills, and it's been a lean winter so far, I've made it through, but not for a lot longer if I keep the status quo.

1 I do smoke an occasional cigarette, a couple per day, but never in my house or anyone else's house. you'd probably never know I smoke if I hadn't put it here. But surprises aren't always appreciated.

2 I rarely drink, anymore. My interest in whiskey and beer is mostly academic, kind of. I like the taste and love to try new labels, but I rarely ever will I drink a whole beer or more than a couple shots of whiskey. I appreciate the taste, I haven't been drunk for a couple years. It isn't because I'm trying to not drink, it's that I just lost interest.

3 Drugs. Well I wouldn't ever do anything like that in your home. I can't even do them in mine. Or almost anywhere for that matter, except maybe BurningMan. I have only tried a few. I want to try several but I've been saying that my whole life, if I haven't done it yet, I doubt I'll be doing it before I'm dead. But there's always BurningMan...

4 I work almost every waking hour. If I'm not at work I'm preparing for it... I never had kids, unfortunately. I wanted kids but was a complicated situation that I'm not willing to post in public. Actually I did, but I edited this long winded bio, for brevity, yes this is much shorter... emails are a problem too. In person I usually am pretty quiet except for number 5 below.

5. Crazy, ummmm. A little, but harmless. I can talk to myself now and then, I started that at Harvard. I never had a mean bone in my body, and I've never stalked anyone. . I'm only a bit ego-centric and think the universe deserves to be blessed with my presence once in a while... I'm just a bit thoughtless, I'm usually thinking about particle physics and cant decide if they played a part in the beginning of the universe or if they just altered the form of the universe once it sprang forth. Oh, and how time travel is not only plausible but absolutely true - but that itself is the reason the universe is just what it is and will never change. Lastly, as linear beings we lack the all around understanding of what it is. Or was. Or will be. And we never will. And I'm wrong about the whole thing. But I'm right. I can't really explain it well, but I see it as something that is "what it is". You get the picture I hope.

Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

Tired of sleeping in my car when I travel for work, but also to meet interesting people instead of driving past them.

Música, películas y libros

Modest Mouse, Cage The Elephant, 21 Pilots, St@fu€ker (yes that's the name of the band)

V for Vendetta, Star Wars et al.,

Anything written by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle

I no longer watch tv. It's hard enough to sit through any movie without two breaks, so a theater is out of the question, even for Star Wars. But to sit through some reality show with half of it advertisements, Lordy I just can't fathom spending even a minute doing that.

Algo increíble que he hecho

For a living I run cable and fix electronics. I also do a few things for a select number of large retailers, setting up large displays. I've worked all over the country. I've lived in many metro areas and some not so metro. Years ago, I had security clearance, and that is a tall order for an electronics technician. So I got to fix things in the most amazing places in the country. I even fixed something on a submarine. Yep it was a nuke sub. I also fixed a tv in the White House, you'd think they'd just buy a new one... National Archives was amazing. I saw things nobody sees. The most secret location I've been is nicknamed Black Raven. I've done work at level 4 containment facilities where they experiment and house contagions. At Black Raven, they ex-rayed my vehicle, it was too much, but it got weirder, you have to take this little car/train thing to get to the Inner door, once they open the enormous outer door. Inside the mountain it's dug out to fit a building. A ten story facility is literally like an office building and living quarters for those who live, and it's all built inside of a mountain, and it's held up by some enormous springs all around the base or bottom of the building. Crazy stuff! By the way, there are more than 4 branches of the military, from my count, when I was counting, there's 9. You'll never know anything about them though.

Enseña, aprende, comparte

I will take an apprentice sometimes. They usually need to be much more screwed up than myself. Lol. But I've mended a couple people by doing this - win some, lose some. One a full on Meth user 20 years my junior, who shot up every day from the time he was 15. He's still clean, over 4 years, and I know this for a fact, cuz I still live with him. He's a good friend. But he's also a lousy friend.

Qué puedo ofrecer a los anfitriones

Lordy, that's just TMI.... Just kidding. I am good to make an amazing dish now and then. Green chile is a specialty, when you can get the chiles. I can do light cleaning. I also can fix your computer, your tv ( if I can get parts and if you have a solder point) I can also build you a computer to specs. That's expensive tho. I'm less physical as I've passed the age of 45. I have a rare problem with my circulatory system and can't do any strenuous things, as of about two years ago. When I do I end up gasping but I have plenty of oxygen, so it's weird, like a natural water boarding thing... I just have to be careful.

In a few weeks I'll be able to pay any hosts I've stayed with, by taking them to dinner, a gift or even cold cash. Just be upfront and make an agreement before I stay there, on the terms. If the terms aren't brought up I will assume I will end up getting you the gift, or I'll end up fixing something for you. If I really like you, installing an entire POS system or camera/DVR system for your business... Aloha!
