In Hawaii was 5 hours into a ridge hike when a friend revealed his fear of heights just as we had to hike 1km back down to the road with 200m drops on both sides - somehow nursed him back to sanity so we didn't get stuck on that ridge overnight. Made it back to the road just as it was getting dark.
