About Me
CURRENT MISSION
We're on a mission from God.
ABOUT ME
After 5 years at university I am taking a break to enjoy myself and catch up with old friends around the world. Following a degree in Scottish History & Philosophy I hope to complete a Masters in either Environmental Politics & History or Intellectual History.
'If we asked your best friends about you, what kinds of things would they say?'
"He has a moustache."
"He rides a unicycle."
"He smokes a pipe."
"He likes to talk (too much)."
"He likes art galleries and heavy metal."
"He has a great hat collection."
"He looks like he is full of secrets."
PHILOSOPHY
Make the world a little better every day.
Preferably while drinking a single malt.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Until now I have had little chance to participate and for the moment I am living with my parents so unable to host. Now I am able to travel again though and when I have my own place I look forward to welcoming visitors to Scotland.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
So far my only couch surfing experiences have been in Latvia, but both were delightful with each host demonstrating a unique hospitality.

Music, Movies, and Books
I enjoy almost everything. Bluegrass, horror, metal, sci-fi, synth-pop, swing, thriller, fantasy, drama, factual, classical, biopic, crime... Always open to suggestions!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I attended the first World Beard & Moustache Championships to be hosted in England.
I have lived in a hammock strung between two trees in the Costa Rican jungle with snakes slithering around me.
I have lived a few miles away from the Scientology headquarters in California.
I have visited a firing range in Lapland after picking blueberries in the forest.
I have unicycled around all of the famous sights in Paris.
I have built sandcastles by the Baltic Sea.
I have visited Jack Hanna's empty home zoo during winter in Ohio.
I have been to a church service about why 'Hell is a real place' in Kentucky before visiting the Wild Turkey distillery.
I have seen a waterfall 1,000 feet beneath a mountain in Tennessee after driving the entire length of the state.
I have travelled the entire coastline of Scotland and seen most of our best known castles along the way.
Teach, Learn, Share
People always want me to 'teach them how to unicycle', but the fact is there is no teaching to do. If you want to unicycle, get a unicycle. Then spend as many hours as it takes balancing on it until you can pedal forward a few feet without falling off. Then you'll fall off. So get back in the banana saddle (srsly) and continue for many more hours until even curbs and potholes prove no obstacle. That's all there is to it! I'm happy to let people borrow my wheels and I'm always looking for someone to ride with; just don't expect to be whizzing down mountains or hopping up staircases on first day. :)
