Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Hosting when I can, showing people around the city, drinking and making merry with strangers, turning strangers into friends, etc.
I've hosted and surfed around the States, China, South America and Europe, and every experience has left me with a great story or a great new friend, often both at once.
Poetry, history, philosophy and other invisible things. Also, baking, art-making, people-watching, etc.
Music, Movies, and Books
so many! too many! let's talk about this
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
exploring the mines of Potosí with a team of Bolivian miners, dueling sunset calls to prayer from the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia in Istanbul, getting lost in snow and fog on top of Mount Emei in China, Beyoncé in Poland with old friends, fresh cheese and apricot jam and flies at an estancia in Argentina... I have lived an impossibly lucky life
Teach, Learn, Share
I could give you piano lessons if we had the time and an instrument on hand... I also make a really good eggplant parmesan, I could show you how to do that.
On a related note, I love being taught how to cook new and delicious things, how to say new and delicious words. Really, I just like it when people teach me things. I suspect if you don't learn at least one thing from everyone you meet then you probably aren't paying attention.
