About Me

Hi, My name is Jinhee Park, and I am from South Korea ( You can call me Gloria instead) I am an exchange student in Paris for one semester, and I am traveling around the Europe right now.
I really like to know about other culture - especially food culture, since my major is restaurant management. I'd love to try foods in other countries and listen to story about other country's food culture. Also I like cooking, so I hope if we have a chance, we can make Korean food together and share our culture together :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think traveling is not just looking at new places, but also experiencing new cultures in new places. Couchsurfing is one of the best ways to experience other culture - since I have a chance to live in local's house! It is interesting for me to how they eat and live. Through couchsurfing, I want to make my trip memory more special, and I hope I can make special memory with you.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like to listen almost every music - but I especially like rock , electronic, and pop music. My favorite musician is coldplay - I definitely like british pop!! Also if you like k-pop (Korean pop), you can chat with me, because I am a huge fan of k pop too! I especially like Big Bang, which is idol boy group in Korea.
My favorite book is Harry Potter, which has a amazing fantasy world in it. (I like both books and movies) I am a huge fan of Harry Potter, so I went to universal studio when I went to London.
My favorite TV program is Walking Dead, and I like it because it shows the depth of human emotion.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The most amazing thing I've done here is that, for 3 months, I've been going every dessert places around Europe! I am so excited that I can eat desserts at place where desserts originally came from. For instance in Belgium I ate best waffle, best macaron in France, best scone in UK, best egg tarte in Portugal, best gelato in Italy. It was one of the amazing things for me, because I put a great value on eating thing.
(If you want to know the store's name, I can let you know:) )
I am keep traveling Europe right now, and I will keep trying various desserts from other countries. I hope you can teach me your country's lovely dessert!

Teach, Learn, Share

I am learning French right now, since I live in Paris. But my French is not that really good, so I try to improve my French by talking with other people. To explain my major, since it is a restaurant management, I am learning gastronomy and management knowledge from university in Korea. If you want to know about Korean Food, I will let you know some information.

What I Can Share with Hosts

The one thing that I want to share with my host is eating Korean food together. When I first came to Europe, I was bit disappointed that there are not many Korean food restaurant - it was easy to find chinese food or japanese food. Korean food might be spicy for Europeans, but I want to let them try and have some experience about it. Moreover I got some small souvenirs from Korea, and I want to give it as a small reminder of me.
