My name is Wujinke, I am 23 years old and now work in Shanghai. During my final year of university, I backpacked through Southeast Asia and fell completely in love with travel. I enjoy traveling alone because it offers great freedom and allows me to meet all sorts of people. I love making new friends with people from different countries and cultural backgrounds, sharing my travel experiences and my life in China. I'm friendly and outgoing, sensitive and thoughtful, with unique ideas. I'm skeptical of traditional life paths and don't want to easily conform to the mainstream.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I believe the most important aspect of travel is immersing oneself in local life and understanding the culture. Therefore, more than being a tourist, I'd like to get to know the locals, and Couchsurfing could give me that opportunity. Although I haven't actually used Couchsurfing yet, I was immediately interested in the community when I first heard about it. I believe that pure idealism still exists here in this day and age. I'm confident I'll meet the best people here!

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy R&B, hip-hop, and indie music. Newjeans, Khalil Fong, Sza, Billie Eilish, and Daniel Caesar are my favorite singers.

I especially love French films; Chantal Akerman, Ryusuke Hamaguchi, Jia Zhangke, and Abbas Kiarostami are all directors I admire. This also includes some truly classic films, such as Cinema Paradiso and The Shawshank Redemption.

My favorite author is Italo Calvino; *The Baron in the Trees* is like a novel that defines my life.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

From December 2024 to January 2025, I started a trip to the Southeast Asia great loop.

In April 2025, I arrived in Myanmar alone after the earthquake, and I was moved and touched.

In June 2025, I rode alone to a village with almost no tourists in Lombok , Indonesia.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can cook Chinese food for the couchsurfing host, tidy up the room, demonstrate Chinese calligraphy, and also exchange language and experiences.
