About Me

Hi there!

My name is Jiyeon, and I’m an adventurous traveler with a love for exploring new places, meeting amazing people, and experiencing different cultures. Traveling for me is not just about seeing beautiful sights; it’s about connecting with people, sharing stories, and learning about their unique ways of life.

I’m also passionate about cooking and enjoy trying local cuisines wherever I go. I believe food is a universal language that brings people together, and I’d love to share a meal or even cook something special for you!

I’m an open-minded and curious person who loves deep conversations about life, culture, and personal experiences. I believe every person has a story to tell, and I’d be thrilled to exchange stories and learn more about your journey.

Looking forward to meeting you and creating wonderful memories together!

** I will not be in Korea from November 2024 to January 2025.**‘

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Growing up in a conservative family, I believe traveling has been a key factor in my personal growth. Experiencing different cultures and perspectives has helped me develop a deeper understanding of others and the world around me, as well as enhanced my ability to empathize with people who are different from me.

I find great joy in connecting with people from diverse backgrounds during my travels, as these interactions allow me to learn and grow even more. This is one of the main reasons I joined Couchsurfing—to share meaningful experiences and learn from others along the way.

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy all kinds of music, regardless of genre—jazz, K-pop, classical, pop, and more. The music I choose often depends on my mood or the atmosphere of the moment. I usually listen to relaxing tunes, but I also love upbeat songs, especially when traveling or on a road trip.

Some of my favorite artists include Lisa Ono, Buena Vista Social Club, IU, Asoto Union, and Inger Marie Andersen. And, of course, I can’t resist Christmas songs during the winter season!

If you have any music recommendations, I’d love to hear them!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

• Paragliding in Interlaken
• Driving a camel cart in Egypt
