About Me

Hi, my name is Julia, and I guess it's about time I updated this profile ...

CURRENT MISSION

Live life.
Cycle the world (and start slow with Austria, South Germany, Switzerland).

ABOUT ME

I am a writer and have started my first book reading tour in bike mid April 2019. I had originally dubbed it #readcycle, but somehow it ended up being called the #wildworldtour, since one of the books I'll be presenting is called Wild World.

As a family, we live close to Hamburg in Northern Germany.
Teenager (almost an adult by now), husband and me plus dog and cat. (They are very cute.)
We enjoy travelling and getting to know new places and people.

PHILOSOPHY

"What would you do if God spoke directly to your face and said: I command that you are happy in this world as long as you live? What would you do then?"

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Well. We love to have guests.
Meeting new people and learning about their lives is such a pleasure!
Do come and visit. Maybe we can pick you up from airport or train station.
Will provide herbs tea or coffee or fresh apple juice when apples are in season. And I make a mean G+T.
Can sure offer advice on what to enjoy here.
If the setting is on "Maybe accepting guests", we are either travelling or incredibly busy. Just ask.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Before I started official couchsurfing, I met with quite a few penpals from all over the world, stayed with them and had them stay with me.
By now we are seasoned Couchsurfers, having surfed quite a lot and hosted various times.
And it's still good to get to know friends all over the world.

Interests

We're openminded, holistic, mostly vegetarian, interested in a lot of things from education to entrepreneurship to airplanes, from ancient Egypt to the Mars mission - and getting to know new people is always exciting.

Right now, I am awfully culturally deprived, having lived in the countryside for a decade. So, if you can bring some culture in here, that's be great.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books:
The Time Traveler's Wife
Aristotle & Dante Discover The Secrets of the Universe
The World until Yesterday

Music:
from Mozart to Rachmaninov, from Abba to ... well anything that's dancy.

Movies:
OMG, don't get me started. There are soooooo many that I like.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Gave birth to my son. I guess that was about the most amazing thing I have done.
Oh, and right now I feel pretty courageous doing this book reading & cycling trip.

Teach, Learn, Share

I know a lot about natural healthy upbringing of children, know how to make bread and breadrolls and fresh orange juice.
Would love to learn how to keep a house clean and a desk in order. :-)
Otherwise learning occurs in each moment end everywhere, doesn't it?

Countries I’ve Visited

Countries I’ve Lived In
