I keep writing these and then come back sometime later to find them quite particular to the moment I wrote them in. Maybe I'll decide for now that I am (and you are) too fluid to be summarized in a paragraph. It's an excuse, really, but I currently don't use Couchsurfing regularly enough anymore to warrant that kind of authorial effort.

At first, because it was a cool project. Then, to meet other travelers. Finally, I surfed/hosted a few times as well, but that was never what it was really about.
