About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Live in community, experience everyday, and give myself away.
ABOUT ME
I live in a gorgeous city that allows us to play all year round. I sell computers in the daytime. In my remaining time, I make a lot of music (playing bass in The Great Nostalgic and guitar in my own solo project), listen to as much music as I can, collect vinyl records, take photographs of interesting things, read books when I can, watch movies, and spend as much time as is available investing in the lives of the people around me. I love good conversation paired with good whiskey, good beer, or good coffee.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I've been able to host several people thanks to my active CS roommate. We're finally parting ways after two years in the same house, and I realized that I still want to be a part of this community. I'm excited to finally have my own profile to be able to play host and to meet people as I travel.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Thanks to South by Southwest, we've hosted CouchSurfers the last two years for the entire event. This has been great to have the time to show people around our city. We've also hosted at periodic other times, where I haven't been able to be as free from work. I definitely prefer having people who want to share life and are looking for someone to introduce them to our city. However, I haven't minded just giving someone a couch for a night as they pass through town.
As a musician, I've had many a nights just stopping in for a few hours rest at someone's house. I would never deny someone else (especially other musicians) that same courtesy. Regardless, either way, I hope we can at least have a good conversation or two in the process.
Interests
Music, spending time with people, film, analog photography, literature (specifically that of the American south), whiskey, beer (thinking about getting started in beer brewing too!), vinyl records, and I've recently taken up running (because I'm way out of shape).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
1. Standing in between the Aya Sofia and the Blue Mosque in Istanbul feeling tiny between two massive structures that had existed for centuries.
2. Fishing in a river west of Anchorage when a full-grown black bear started coming after the salmon hanging from the side of my boat. I was about 20 feet from the bear before he was scared away by our guide's air horn.
3. Rafting down the Arkansas River in a crazy hail storm.
