ABOUT ME

I enjoy being outside doing physical things- swimming, body surfing, bike riding, hiking, gardening. I love strong coffee and get up early to enjoy it in the quiet part of the day. I am lucky to have two children who are good company, when they are home. While I don't mind time by myself, I do enjoy meeting new people and hearing their stories.

Hosted a few surfers and am looking forward to surfing myself perhaps next summer.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have a PhD in literacy studies, and have raised a child with a chronic medical condition. I rowed in the 1988 Olympics. All of these "titles" come with a diverse set of experiences and lessons that have taught me a lot. I want to learn about other cultures. I want to learn how to garden organically and to live a more sustainable life.
