One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Hiking to the bottom of the Grand Canyon was pretty insane. It was one of the few places where a photo seemed completely ridiculous, since it couldn't possibly capture the immensity of the scene.
I also was pretty amazed by Istanbul. The city gave me a new perspective about history. The "new" part of the city was built in the 1500s. The oldest parts of the city were much much older. It made me feel a bit silly coming from the US, where buildings are deemed historic if they have lasted a mere 50 years. It was pretty incredible to feel a part of city life that had been going on for many thousands of years. It made me feel both insignificant and also a part of something much bigger.
