ABOUT ME

Im currently a junior in college with a list thats stretches down the block and around the corner of goals. Some of those include learning to speak spanish fluently, learning to play the acoustic guitar, and mushing a sled dog team. I'm hoping to have accomplished these 3 within the next 5 years. Lucky for me I fly free till I'm 23(thanks to my mom whose a Delta Airlines Flight attendant) so I intend to take full advantage of this, and while I'm here in the states hopefully I'll have a couple of surfers over and build a network of friends all over the world :)

It would be great if I could meet a couple of people who would be willing to accompany me on some of these adventures I have planned!

Carpe Diem!

I got this big long chunk of words from a book recommended to me by a friend.. I thought it was kinda cool although somewhat unrealistic for most.

"To be truly challenging, a voyage, like a life, must rest on a firm foundation of financial unrest. Otherwise, you are doomed to a routine traverse; the kind known to yachtsmen who play with their boats at sea..."cruising" it is called. Voyaging belongs to seamen, and to the wanderers of the world who cannot, or will not fit in. If you are contemplating a voyage and you have the means, abandon the venture until your fortunes change. Only then will you know what the sea is all about. "I’ve always wanted to sail to the South Seas, but I can't afford it." What these men can't afford is not to go. They are enmeshed in the cancerous discipline of "security". And in the worship of security we fling our lives beneath the wheels of routine- and before we know it our lives are gone. But we are brainwashed by our economic system until we end up in a tomb beneath a pyramid of time payment, mortgages, preposterous gadgetry, play things that divert our attention for the sheer idiocracy of the charade. The years thunder by, the dreams of youth grow dim where they lie caked in dust on the shelves of patience. Before we know it, the tomb is sealed. Where then lies the answer? In choice. Which shall it be: bankruptcy of purse or bankruptcy of life?"

Seeing as how I’m already broke and that is unlikely to change within the next year or so as I am a full time college student. I figure I’ll try and stick with this “philosophy” as you would call it for as long as possible.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Myself and a few of my friends got season passes to Grand Targhee ski resort. I had heard of couch surfers before but hadnt gotten around to making an account till the fall 2010. So we found an awesome host in driggs who let us stay for the weekend and I think I'll be hooked from now on!
