I'm a PhD student in anthropology writing an ethnography of the Indonesian labour movement in Hong Kong. I am originally from Hong Kong and half Japanese, but have lived abroad for over a decade. I'm coming back to Hong Kong over the winter holidays but don't have a place to stay, so if anyone can host me, that'll be awesome!

Music, Movies, and Books

Music - I like all sorts of music genres: lofi, hiphop, rnb, anything relaxed and chill. I'm also into old school jazz.
Movies - I just recently watched Roma! Amazing, totally beyond expectations. I like watching foreign films.
Books - I am constantly reading for my PhD so I don't read much outside of it haha :p I like reading scriptural texts like the Dhammapada or Gita. I also like novels, I'm a fan of Elena Ferrantes.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I spent six months in the jungles of Borneo researching the Dayak tribal community and how they've been impacted by the oil palm boom!

Teach, Learn, Share

I grew up in HK and my research is in HK, so I can show you around interesting communities like the migrant worker communities on Sundays, the ethnic minority communities at Chungking mansions. I'm also in touch with the general HK labour movement, so that could be something as well :)
