About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To spend the best week in Nantes & Paris this winter!

ABOUT ME

Hello fellow Couch Surfers! I am a very recent college graduate and ready to take on all the pleasures of the world by traveling my way into the hearts of cultures. I am a sagittarius and I have an arrow scar on my left hand symbolizing the direction to which I string my bow for my next adventure.

I'm a designer and I love love love anything related to design.

PHILOSOPHY

I am a huge believer in Karma. The concept of "action" or "deed", understood as that which causes the entire cycle of cause and effect.

I am not a religious person but respect all forms of religion and appreciate partaking in any religious event, ceremony, weekly / daily practice because it opens the doors to understanding the human culture.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

At the moment I am more of a surfer than a host. I recently moved out of my place in Milwaukee and I'm traveling to find the perfect home for myself. The world is a large place so I'm discovering my options :D

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've surfed in France, London, Netherlands, Belgium and in Seattle and I've hosted in Milwaukee once. I need more experience!

Interests

Morning jog / exercise, reading outside on the grass, biking as a commuter, discussing design, going out to a dive bar or a pub, meeting new people, exploring new lifestyles, making models, problem solving.

Music, Movies, and Books

Just finished reading : Les Miserables by Victor Hugo
Favorite book : Battle Royal (the actual book not the graphic novel)
Favorite movie : The Adventures of the Baron Munchausen
Currently listening : Yellow Ostriche. Of Monsters & Men. St. Vincent. Gardens & Villas. Weekend Wolves. El Guincho. Golden Silvers. Bombay Bicycle Club. Dark Dark Dark. Cloud Control.

I adore small venue concerts. Up close & personal with the musiciens.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was born in Burkina Faso in west Africa. My father was in the Peace Corps in the 80s and that's where he met my mother. I grew up traveling back and forth to see my family and I have a lot of fond memories of back home. I guess the coolest thing about me is that my best friend was a monkey when I was 3. He was the guard monkey of the village & had belonged to my uncle. Since he was a guard monkey he was really vicious and everyone was afraid. But I was the same height as he was and didn't pose as a threat to him as I brought him peanuts everyday that summer. My mother had lots of photographs of the monkey and I and I always love seeing them and thinking of how related we are to nature around us.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love cooking and enjoy sharing my cooking even more.
An entire afternoon spent in the kitchen is absolutely delightful as long as it ends up with a big smile on the faces of my friends.
