About Me

Hi, everyone! My name is Jo. My #1 passion in this world is traveling. I am an avid, experienced traveler and usually travel solo, so I don't know why it has taken me so long to become a couch surfer. I finished college a little over a year ago, and since then, I have been working at one of the largest global animal pharmaceuticals companies in the world. I am very friendly and love different kinds of people and cultures.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to become a part of this amazing community that I've heard about over the years. It has taken me awhile to get into this, because I did a lot of traveling before college, but then for the past few years, I haven't been traveling very far - just focusing on getting my degree, an apartment of my own, a good job, and a stable financial situation. Now that I am in good shape all around, I'm ready to start traveling again, so I thought it would be a good idea to become a couch surfer. I want to meet new people and experience different cultures, even from my own home. I may be able to host someday in the future if I can convince my boyfriend to accept strangers into our home. He is not as open to the idea as I am. For now, I am just looking for someone who can host me for my upcoming adventures, and to hang out with any travelers who are in town and want an Atlantian to show them around and provide them with some company on their trip.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm pretty much obsessed with the Harry Potter books and movies. I also love the Jurassic Park books and movies. Other than that, my taste is pretty all over the place. As for movies, I enjoy horror, psychological thrillers, musicals, fantasy, science fiction, and comedy. As for books, I definitely love a good horror, fantasy, or science fiction book. I'm always trekking to the nearest Barnes & Noble for something new and am running out of space in my book case. As far as music goes, I am stuck in the 80s (which is funny, because I wasn't alive in the 80s,) and I frequently find myself listen to a quite random playlist mixture of 80s rock, 90s anything, and musical songs. I even like some classical music, and we must not forget Disney songs (the ones from when I was a kid, of course.) Those never get old.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I think I'm most proud of the fact that I have climbed all the way up Machu Picchu, starting at 4am, in the pouring rain and pitch blackness of night/early morning, all while sick. And that was the end of a 4-day trek (mostly by foot and bicycle) from Cuzco to Machu Picchu.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am adventurous, fun-loving, and open-minded. When I am in a new place, I want to experience everything while there. I am easy to get along with and make many friends when I travel, as I enjoy the company of other people while on my trips, so if you welcome me into your life, I will gladly accept.
