Overview
About Me
Hi! I make participatory physical theatre for public spaces (idiotstring.org), teach people how to run into walls (http://circuscenter.org/clown), clown in hospitals (https://medicalclownproject.org/) and make props for a children's theatre in Berkeley, CA (http://bactheatre.org/). I also love to read YAF, daydream in the sun, swim in open bodies of water, eat smoothies (ok, so I've totally been taken in by the smoothie bowl), and move my body in the outdoors. I've recently traveled to Bali to teach clown and learn mask-carving, and I've started to learn Bahasa Indonesian. I'm deeply interested in compassion and mindfulness practice and how listening and conscious play can help heal divides.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've recently started to get opportunities to teach and social clown further afield than my home area, and I'm looking for ways to make this both affordable (possible) and also to connect with people in the places that I am teaching/clowning. I have also been accepted to an advanced clown teacher training seminar in Boulder, and I am specifically looking for a place to stay there from Aug 17- Sept 2.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I designed and built a mobile stage that looks like a gypsy wagon and then unfolds into a full stage with operating renaissance-type simple stage mechanics: trap door, pulley, rotating scenery - and for our current show, it becomes a pirate ship with a crow's nest. Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach clowning, slapstick, partner acrobatics, yoga, super basic ukelele, carpentry and woodworking, tinkering, and I can share places to see and fun things to do and cultural background of SF and Bay Area.
I would love to continue learning Indonesian and more advanced ukelele, or learn about the culture and natural areas of the places I visit.
And I'm always down to share thoughts and insight on how to make this world a better place for everyone.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Slapstick skills and pratfalls. Partner Acrobatics. Yoga. Finding your inner clown. Basic Ukelele chords/songs. I make a pretty delicious sweet potato and kale hash.
