Overview
About Me
Hello :) My name is Joana, I’m 21 and I'm Portuguese. I study medicine and am currently in the 5th year (it’s a 6 year degree in Portugal). I have always lived in Portugal, but I’ve travelled to a few countries with family and with friends.
Although nowadays I spend a lot of time studying, I really love to travel whenever I can, to meet new places, new cultures and new people with the most diverse perspectives. I am a very sociable and kind person. I speak English very fluently, so there won't be any communication problems.
I would love to hear new stories and have the opportunity to tell my experiences so far :) Also, advice from locals about where to eat best, or for example, great hikes to do.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I want to see the world, new cultures, hear new stories and make new friends. I feel like it’s a very different way to explore a new city, and you definitely never forget the people you encounter on that journey. I hope to return the favour one day, when it is possible for me to do so.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love latin music and I also really enjoy psytrance and reggaeton, but I’m open to many different styles of music.
I really enjoy reading, and I’d say some of my favorites are: The kite runner, the boy in the striped pajamas, the help, wild swans and a thousand splendid suns.
I like movies, but nowadays I watch a lot of TV shows, for example: Game of thrones, the handmaid's tale, dark, big little lies, friends, grey's anatomy, las chicas del cable, la casa de papel, traición, gran hotel, and many others.
I watch the spanish shows not only because of the plot, but also because they improve my spanish-speaking skills.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Went hiking in the Tatras for the first time in September 2019. It was very challenging for me, especially because it rained for hours and hours non-stop.
