About Me

ABOUT ME

My friends call me Tricky. In general, they find me enjoyable to be around because I come up with new ideas for things to do and hardly every complain.

I have a bachelor's degree in History, which means I am well-spoken and know a lot of trivia. So I'm currently studying civil engineering, because one degree is never enough!

Sometimes I think about becoming a vigilante and fighting crime, mostly because of the cool costumes, but then I remember I'm lazy.

Interests

I'm a civil engineering student at Portland State University in Oregon, and I'm traveling in the Netherlands from June 19 until July 17.

I'm pretty active, and do some running and lifting when I can. I bike everywhere. I've played rugby for the last ten years but I recently retired. Most recently I played with ORSU, one of the premiere-level US teams. I played with the Haagsche Rugby Club in Den Haag a few times in the summer.

Let's see, I have a cat back in Portland named Roxy who is the best pest. I enjoy reading, sleeping, karaokeing and adventuring. My favorite band is the Red Hot Chili Peppers, who I will be seeing in Nijmegen June 28th!!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was backpacking once in Norway and came across the Kjeragbolten, which is a boulder wedged between two cliff faces, 980 m above the Lysefjord. However, being sensibly afraid of heights, I crept slowly towards it. Then I peeked over it. Then I put a toe on it. This was amazing by my standards.

I met Bill and Hilary Clinton because Hilary's college roommate was the Ambassador to the Netherlands and sent her daughter to my school, so the Clintons visited my high school in Wassenaar. And I met Barack Obama at the Chicago Pride Parade in 2007, back when he was running for the senate race. My girlfiend was working with his opponent's campaign, so I got to see him debate live too. Wait, maybe meeting presidents isn't that amazing. Am I supposed to be impressing you?

Oh, I had my first kiss on a felucca on the Nile! That's pretty amazing!
