About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Laugh

ABOUT ME

I try to live a simple life, appreciating the richness of human experience, simple ideas I believe in and try to follow:

be honest, good and real;
be close to good people, share ideas and experiences with others; have conversations!
stay curious; ask questions;
be mindful, know myself;
appreciate "the intimacy of your surroundings", stories behind the surface.

PHILOSOPHY

"Bad choices make good stories"
"Life is very long", T.S. Eliot
I used to be quite frightened about my life choices and it brought me a lot of bad suffering. Later i realized that it's more useful to see life as a series of experiments. And i suffer much better now :)
When I travel I think I rather travel to people than places, unless I really seek solitude. I am curious about daily life of human beings, usually searching for some interactions, opportunity to meet and exchange.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm sharing a flat with wonderful people, who are on CS as well. If we're in town and it's fine with everyone, we can host and show around. We live in walking distance form main railway station, in an old building, in rather neglected but beautiful area of Wroclaw.
I think it's really great example of how technology can be used to promote the good human qualities and promote sharing practices.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Only nice :) hosted and surfed several times. I met quite some really close friends through this portal, so I can fairly say it changed my life quite a lot.

Interests

People and culture in many aspects, exploring human mind mechanisms, mental health, open dialogue, modern communities, social innovations, cultural history, biographies and psychology, playing games, watching and discussing films, listening to podcasts while walking, camping, hiking, cycling, dancing, singing, getting lost, asking questions, having conversations, solving problems together...

Music, Movies, and Books

different kinds of music I like, depending if I want to sing, dance, relax, while listening to it. Usually I appreciate folk music in various variants. Sometimes psytrance, sometimes jazz, rock or metal. Once i discovered French radio station called FIP. Since that moment i listen to it very often- check it out!

"Surely You're Joking, Mr. Feynman!", books by David Lodge, "Sex at dawn"
I generally like non-fiction books, enjoyed books by Yuval Noah Harari. I really love listening to podcasts/interviews with interesting people, authors: On being, Tangentially Speaking, Under the skin, Hidden Forces.
Movies touching various areas of human to human relations, psychology, cultural history, etc., like Her, Happiness, Birdman, Toni Erdmann, Styx. I liked series, like Black mirror, Humans, The Knick, Rectify, Maniac.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I inspired a friend to enjoy dancing, although he thought he will never do.

Teach, Learn, Share

I would be very happy having opportunity to share some of our stories - these little pieces of our lives - no matter if they're modest and simple or full of adventures and craziness. It would be great to go out together or stay home doing anything and by spending time together learn a bit more about world.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Some knowledge about Wrocław, stories, conversation, vegetarian food, laughter, massages.
