About Me
Hi, I’m Joanne! I’m a Filipina and I used to be based in South America. It’s my dream to be a multilingual traveling teacher and that was one reason behind the move to thousands of kilometers away from home. I’ll be starting a new chapter in Europe soon as I got accepted to an exciting master’s program in Madrid. Really stoked to make new friends and create more memories through Couchsurfing!

Music, Movies, and Books
I listen to a very wide variety of music but sorry trap and rap wouldn’t make it to the list. Obviously like a true Filipino, I love the karaoke. I’m an amateur ukulele player too. I would also have loved to see Queen live.
Gotta have some good persuading skills to make me watch anything thriller and horror.
Been getting on lots of non-fiction lately—M. Scott Peck’s Road Less Traveled, Whole-Brain Child by Dan Siegel, The Culture Map by Erin Meyer, etc. Also a fan of Dolly Alderton and used to be an avid collector of Geronimo Stilton lol
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Moving to the other side of the world is one of my biggest leaps of faith 🤣, but a few of my best memories are hitchhiking the Carretera Austral in Chile solo, and reaching 17m underwater in my freediving training.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm greatly into languages at the moment and hopefully could share with you a thing or two with my intermediate Spanish! It's also not every day that you get to meet backpacking Filipinos so I'd be happy to share with you our culture. I like learning in the kitchen as well!
What I Can Share with Hosts
I’m an adaptable and orderly person. Having me would be a breeze! Food, stories, and laughs.
