I'm a semi retired woman who has lived in San Miguel de Allende since 2009 and absolutely love living here. I lived in Washington DC for 26 years and have traveled extensively throughout Africa, to Pakistan, Yemen, Egypt and a number of other countries.

I worked in international development in education reform and program evaluation and have traveled extensively. I have one grown daughter and 2 grandkids who live in Maryland (US). I still do consulting assignments occasionally and since I moved to Mexico, have worked in Ghana, The Gambia and Malawi.

To help out young people who are on an adventure, and because some friends of mine traveled through Canada and the Northern US and loved all the places they stayed and people they met through Couchsurfing.

I love to dance and primarily do Argentine tango in San Miguel, and enjoy our small, but friendly tango community. I like decorating and gardening and will get back into tennis once my plantar faciatis heals - if it ever does :(

I've always been an avid reader, primarily of fiction, but am disappointed that I now spend way too much time online - ugh!

Love photography and also spend time trying to improve my intermediate-level Spanish.

I love music and have a large collection of all types of music. We have a lot of great live music in San Miguel. Wish I'd learned to play an instrument so I could jam with other musicians.

Just read a fabulous book called The Warmth of Other Suns, about the great migration of blacks from the South to the North over a 50-year period. Also read Americanah and Half a Yellow Sun this year.

Love independent and foreign films and those that portray deep characters and the lives of people in other countries. Get tired of car chases and gratuitous sex scenes.

Put myself through undergraduate and graduate school as a single mother, working 2-3 part time jobs . Completed my Masters and Doctoral degrees in 3 years (all but 18 days to finish my dissertation).
