Why I’m on Couchsurfing
In Lisbon I see so many tourists visiting a city that is built just for them and they don't see anything of the real country.
I try to go to places where I know people so I can avoid the overcrowded parts. I want to travel but I don't want to be a tourist, I want to be a part of the country for a few days.
My perspective on couchsurfing is that I don't have a fixed schedule or any plans. If you need help to build a fence halfway across the country, you can count on me. It's a better story than just going to see the most popular attractions on maps :D
Or if you're busy but could recommend some lesser known places that would be great too
Music, Movies, and Books
for music anything with guitars in it, dire straits, the strokes, pink floyd, metallica, pantera, dream theater...
books, mostly sci-fi: loved the witcher, dune, metro and the hussite trilogy
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've had some interesting things happen, at some point I ended up sleeping in an airport terminal that was technically closed and got woken up by people banging on the windows at 5am
it's better to tell in person, it loses the magic if I write it down
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you the the basics of a full computer science degree in a few weeks, but I don't think either of us would want that :)
other than the basic guitar/english/portuguese, I can share the list of cool places I've discovered
What I Can Share with Hosts
I haven't packed yet so I will try to fit something traditional in my bag, if it doesn't fit I will grab a bottle of wine on the way x). I can't tell good wine from bad wine so I hope you can't either
Countries I’ve Visited
