About Me
This is a safe place: we welcome and support folks of all backgrounds, identities and equality-based ideologies. A special shoutout to our muslim neighbors and nonbinary folk -- we're glad to have you here.
*******************
I'm a Northern California gal (she/her) living in Virginia with a love of travel, a huge dose of gratitude and a great desire to give back to the world.
I’m a parent of two, artist who creates for fun and to earn back the cost of my supplies (lol! They add up!) and a disabled citizen. I love singing with neighbors, dancing blues fusion with Rob around the house, and doing social justice work to build up a world of greater equity. In the past I have been an ardent rock climber, thespian, and traveler, but these days I mostly go on small adventures with my kids, like hiking from our house through the woods to the local brewery for kombucha or making watercolor masterpieces framed in cardboard. We have fun!
My husband Rob (https://www.couchsurfing.com/people/robert.hildebrand.18) and I have lived in Davis, CA; Zurich, Switzerland; Peekskill, NY; Berkeley, CA; and now Blacksburg, VA for his career as an academic mathematician. Thank goodness he has my artsy, languages self to balance out his left brain!
