About Me

Hi there!

Nice to meet you, I'm Jocelyn. I'm an international specialist working for the INGO. Currently, I living in Jordan, so might not be able to host anyone right now. But if you are planning to come visit this country, please let me know! I would love to show you how beautiful this country is!

In my free time, I Love to read. From fantasy to romance or murder to outer space, as long as it is a good one, I will in love with it! I also play chess, not good at it, but love it. Music, of course! Nothing special, pop music. But I think the only exercise I can do is swimming, I am so terrible about all kinds of exercise with the ball or on land. But super good at swimming! I also cook, bake, write. Have all kinds of skills to live along except kill bugs. If you come to visit me, I would love to cook or bake for you. If you host me, I will also love to cook or bake, and I do clean dishes!

Love all kinds of animals, especially dogs. I'm so crazy about dogs, their eyes are too cute to say no. Also love to help people, like what I do for living now, try my best to help kids and families who is in need. I do hope my existence will be helpful, no matter for humans, other animals, or this beautiful earth. But I am also not that kind of person who always says we have to be good, I feel no matter what we do, as long as we don't hurt others or ourselves, we are gooood.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Hmm... I mean, why not? It's an amazing way to meet new friends! And this is the best way to know different cultures and different life stories.

Music, Movies, and Books

It is the hardest one to answer because there are so many to choose and to tell. For books, I love Pride and Prejudice(classic, and also the movie, I love the 2005 one), The Bookish of Nina Hill(a very cute one, the story heals my heart), and Harry Potter(but my fav is Newt and no worry I won't judge you if you don't like it). Currently, I am reading some small products from Korea and Japan, hope the next one can be Tress of the Emerald Sea. Compared of the Kindle, I prefer real books more, the smell, the texture...etc, but because it is kinda hard to travel around with all the books I want to read, Kindle is my best partner now. So if you are a big reader and see me hold a Kindle, please don't judge me!

For the music, I love Lonely City, Picture of You, and Building a Family(from the movie No Reservations). Classic (especially Cello), Pop (English one)...there are a lotttt, but I think I will just say no to something too loud, others are all a little bit here and there in my life.

For the Movie, I think it is the same as my book type. For me, books and movies are very related, both of them are all telling stories, but show in different ways. If you are also in love with movies, let's go to watch a movie together! Surprisingly, even movie theater shows different cultures. In Eswatini, you can see the HIV ad before every movie.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I think the best thing I did and will keep doing is travel by myself, I have many special memories when I travel along. I do love to travel with friends, but I love the feeling when I can see this world by myself, and it is also a good way to meet new friends. But if we are really talking about some amazing "thing", I would say is swimming in the second-largest mountain lake in the world in the early morning watching the brightening mountain. It was so cold, but the view was breathtaking.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you how to speak Traditional Chinese (one of the hardest ones, and not really useful...only Taiwanese use this language now) and a good recipe for Sablés Breton :D

What I Can Share with Hosts

I would love to bring you something from the place I live now, or the country I will pass by when I go to you. I never take anything for granted, so I will never just go to your place and live there like it is a hotel. I love to talk, but I am an introvert, so it might take some time to warm up. But that is also the reason I chose this platform because compared to talking with bunch of people and only knowing 20% of each, I prefer to focus on only one to two people (fluffy family members also included).
