Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To travel vicariously through my guests, since I am currently too poor to venture out.
ABOUT ME
I'm a writer and editor living in the coolest neighborhood in Seattle, the Central District. I have dreamed about this moment--this awesome life--ever since the 90's when The Real World was HQ'ed down at Pier 70. Seattle is the home of cool, and now it's the home of me and little Barthes (my Norwegian Forest Cat) to boot!
PHILOSOPHY
Politically progressive, spiritually open, refusing any all-encompassing philosophy right now in the spirit of rebellion.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Right now I'm only hosting. I wish I had the time/money to travel, but it's tough because I own my own business and have to work ALL the time in order to foster it into Greatness, you know? I used to couch surf a bunch but it's been about four years! Very excited to welcome guests, though. I think it will be good incentive to keep the clothes off the floor :)
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I couchsurfed while living in Northern Ireland and travelling (limitedly) around the UK and France. I loved it! It was the coziest and most adventuresome travelling of my life (some juxtaposition, right?)

Music, Movies, and Books
MUSIC: New Wave and Industrial still rule my jukebox, even after the dark days of highschool/college have past. I listen to way too much disco because I'm an incredibly talented dancer and can't stop moving. So grateful to live in Seattle so I can listen to KEXP constantly, and hop around indie and electronic music dj nights at least once a week. Also Dolly Parton. In my house we wake up to Dolly and Merle Haggard and George Jones on weekend mornings.
MOVIES: French New Wave is the basis for my worldview. I like dark, cerebral European movies without a lot of plot and I like American RomComs in equal measure.
BOOKS: Are all I ever do, and all you will do too, since I do not have a television. I have about 5,000 books in my apartment, so I won't even bother to break it down into favorites. But if you like poetry, philosophy, feminism, fiction, Early Modern theatre, or learning about writing and editing, you will find something to read here.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Sailing continually knocks the wind out of me. How is it possible to be so free in the middle of so much gravitational pull?
Teach, Learn, Share
Cooks! I am an auto-didact and have perfected quite a few amazing vegetarian dishes, but I would loooove to learn some more.
Bicyclists! Coming to town with your bike? I know sooo many good places for us to explore!
Musicians! I have a guitar for you to play while you're here. I don't play, but I keep it so I can sing along while you play.
