Interests

Long distance hiking & biking, motorbiking, playing the guitar and historic technics. Good cheese and wine while sitting at the fireplace.

In 2018 I start two long hiking projects:

Walking to Trondheim, Norway. I split this way up in two logistic independant units - starting from my home in the Eifel via Cologne, the Wupperweg and the "Sauerland Höhenflug" to Marsberg in Spring 2018, and through Denmark and Scania in Summer 2018.

The second project which really tempts me, is the old "Mountain Hiking Way of Friendship" starting in Eisenach, leading through Thuringia, Saxony, Czech Republic, Poland, Slovakia and Hungary to Budapest. Here I will start in Eisenach in Fall 2018, trying to reach Plauen this year.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have created my own Pilgrim's Way, walking from my home at the belgian border all the way to St.Florian's (the firefighters' patron) tomb near Linz, Austria in 42 stages:

2014: Aachen -Bad Münstereifel - Ahrweiler - Koblenz
2015: Koblenz - Limburg - Fulda - Mellrichstadt (northern Bavaria/Franconia)
2016: Mellrichstadt - Coburg - Marktredwitz - Weiden - Cham (Bavarian Forest)
2017: Cham - Passau - Linz - St.Florian
