Olà dear traveller !

My name is Jocya but everybody call me Joy ! I think you guess why ahah ! All the time happy, enthusiastic about doing anything, curious about life and people and always singing with myself :p I'm an always smilling person so I hope I will meet smilling persons too ^^ !

A little about my special way of life:

I'm an extremely simple person you know. Not too serious as well. I try to have a way of life the simpliest I can and to live with the less I can ! In fact, I have a dream : To leave my apartment and to go to live in a van ! I should do it when I'll finished my studies ^^ But at present I live without TV (since more than 3 years in fact) , without microwave because I prefer to cook food myself and it's not more annoying to reheat food in a stove ahah ! Since 1 year I live without fridge ! Incredible you might think or impossible but I'm ""vegan"" (I use "" because I trully don't like to put a "global word" on people). (Read next paragraph to know more about me and food, I'm not so strict with it :)). And because I don't eat meat or dairies and I cook everything myself with fresh ingredients, I simply don't need fridge anymore ^^ But sometimes I turn it on if I have guests to serve fresh beers ahahha (Love beers so much, I grown up in the North of France and in the North, we love beer ^^). But don't bee afraid, I'm ok if I have to turn it on for guests ^^. Right now I live without hot water (-: I learnt to take cold showers ahah And there are so much advantages to clean ourself with cold water ! Maybe we will take about it when we will meet eachother ^^ But here again , no matter for me if I have to turn hot water on for guests who sleep at the apartment :) I hope in the future to live without electricity but I think it won't be for right now ahah
In this subject, I also don't use public transports because I think that we HAVE TO walk ! It's healthy ! People became to lazy today :( Because I love to walk very much, I don't really need to do sport in supp ahah Even if when I'm in Paris ^^ I think also that to discover and to know well a city, it's forbidden to use public transports (-: When you walk, you discover so much more things about a city ! :D Nice places and so on..
In this simply life I live, I also do myself my comestics, my stick deodorant and my dishwashing liquid for example :) I can so use natural ingredients and not chimical stuffs !
To live with less money, I hope one day to do a little dumpster diving but right now, I don't dare.. But I have already worked in an association where we get unsold food to redistribute to poor people :) (I'll do a paragraph about associations I worked with)

A little about food:

3 years vegetarian, 2 years vegetalian and right now 1 year vegan :) Long time strict vegan (When I went out, in restaurants and when I was invited at family's or friend's home) but I do some exceptions right now to make things easier.. I'm not disgusting about eat meat or dairies, it's just an ethical, moral and ecological choice :) But at home I'm strict ! Never meat at home sorry.. And I can cook anything by replacing dairies don't worry , and I think I cook well ^^ I love to cook vegetables with a lot of spices and hot chili recipes but don't worry I know also to cook without ahah Maybe we could share our special recipies ! It might be awesome ^^
To close this paragraph I'll say that I eat what we give me to eat, meat or whatever, I'm not a difficult person :)

About my ex work as a volunteer:

I worked in 3 associations.
- The first, I told you a little about it, I was an associations where we get unsold vegetables and bread on a market, then we look which food can be eaten or not and finally we redidtribute it to poor people after the end of the market :) I'm sooo proud of this association because of everything it gave to me ! I learnt a lot of things by working with them and I met so beautiful people... Incredible expérience... No other word could discribe it better :)
- The second was an association where we go on the streets to meet homeless, to give them food/water, hygiene products and we talk with them around a coffee/hot chocolate or homemade soup ^^ Here I also met incredible people, homeless I became friends with and so much about life and sharing lessons !
- The third was an association to fight for animals rights. I mainly handed out flyers to give informations to people about veganism, about a "cruetly free way of life" for examples. We went in the streets to talk with people and sometimes we organized vegan events ^^

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Principaly because it's the cheapest but I mainly think that Couchsurfing is the simpliest way to meet people who are interesting in people and not about earning money by hosting people... Maybe the more interesting way to meet people more "human" and enjoy moments with locals ^^

Interests

About my passions and what I like to do:

I love enjoy simply moments with people to talk about their experiences, to chill together or to go out and dance on good music.
I'm extremely interesting about learning languages and foreign cultures ! I hope to be fluent in english, one day in german ! When I was in high school I was nearly fluent in chinese. I know a little about mauritius creole and Cambodia's language thanks to my ex-boyfriends ahah. I hope I could one day learn a little about hindi ^^
I love to read books about psychology, sociology, spirituality and above all, HAPPINESS !!
I spend my time at the cinema or simply out of my apartment for going a walk anywhere. But when I'm at home, I spend my time by learning more about a way of life without money, a nomadic way of life or to live self-sufficiency (without consumer industry in fact).
I move a lot but just in France, I live in the South of France, just next to mountains but I grew up in the North and my whole family is in the North next to Belgium (Lille) ^^. I'm in love with Paris so I go often during the month in the capital :) I hope I will travel a lot out of France right now ^^ With my backpack ahah But I'm cruelly a beginner for the moment :p
