Hi I’m Jodie!
I grew up and live in Milan, Italy. Since I was little, the idea of travelling and seeing the marvels of the world attracted me.
My parents had a travel agency and I used to read the (so many) catalogues that they bought or to ask them about the tickets they were selling or information about the destinations they were talking about.
I’ve travelled a little bit around Europe and in my home country, and now I’m in Erasmus in Madrid!

When at home, I study Medicine and Surgery at the University of Milan, work as a private teacher for high and middle school kids, and as a waitress.
I’m a huge fun of outdoor activities: my favourite mean of transport is my bike, which I even called “bolide” as a joke since it’s probably 30 or so years old; I like running and swimming and I’ve played pretty much every sport (soccer, volleyball, basketball, swimming, ice-skating, karate, you name it!).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

The appeal and love for travelling, seeing and learning new things and (who knows!) skills, knowing new people and cultures: bigger the differences, richer will be the experience.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love to read, especially classics (Germans and Russians are among my favourites), but also contemporary: I've read all of Milan Kundera's books and recently fell in love with Saramago and Pessoa (after visiting Lisboa).
I listen to all kind of music, from Bach to the Beatles (even though I'm team Rolling Stones). I'm a rock enthusiast, more precisely alternative rock: my favourite band is The Smiths, and am also really fond of Arctic Monkeys, Radiohead, The Verve, The Blur. So, a lot of Brits, but not just bands, I'm also into solo singers like Jake Bugg. I also like folk: The Lumineers, Mumford & Sons and so on.

I love going to concerts too: I saw live most of the previously mentioned musicians!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I’m really down to earth: I'm not used to many luxuries and am happy about humble accomodation. I’m good with people and in cooperating and interacting with small or large groups.
