Hey, I'm Joe - a 22 year old recent graduate from Glasgow, Scotland. I recently started living in Berlin, working as a software engineer.

I am pretty interested in lots of different genres of music - from hiphop, to pop punk, to classic oldies and folk like Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Joni Mitchell and Paul Simon. I like to cover old folk songs on harmonica and guitar, but I still need to work on my singing voice before it's presentable to the public!

As a software engineer, I am also interested in lots of different branches of technology, and in particular how they affect us socially. If you get me started talking about the topics of autonomous transport or space exploration, it'll be difficult to get me to stop.

As a new resident in Berlin I am really interested in learning about the city and its people, and also learning German!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Since I am living in Berlin am really interested in getting to know the city and its culture from a "local" perspective, rather than just as a tourist. I'm looking forward to meeting new people, and learning about their interests, and experiences, and generally expanding my horizons and having fun! :D

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was fortunate enough to speak to the commander of the international space station (Chris Hadfield) via skype call, while at space camp. As a bit of a nerd, I consider this pretty amazing :)
