About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To live day to day in a satisfied way.

ABOUT ME

I write as often as I can, from comics to scripts to short stories. When I sleep I dream of what I'll write next. I like to attend the cinema when I have the time, and would love nothing better than to own a vintage cinema playing the best classics for an appreciative audience. I don't currently work where I live, but that should change soon. I'm clean, responsible, a good listener and pretty laid back.

PHILOSOPHY

Got to find the positive in everything, even when a lot of tiny snowflakes clump into one painful snowball of discomfort, know that the snowball will eventually melt. (cheesy, but it just came to me.)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm hoping to become more involved in years to come. I will say that for now I'd like to get to know more people in Los Angeles (where I need to stay for work), and Austin (where I hope to travel a few times this year) and down the line I'd like to base travel experiences and excitement on people more familiar with the specific area I visit. Spontaneity is a trait I'm starting to become accustomed to.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have only couch-surfed with friends, and recently with people I haven't seen in a long time. I can say that people are generous when it comes down to it, and personality can stand in place of a too-hot apartment, terrible parking, or an uncomfortable couch. Smiles and positivity are key!

Interests

Watching all sorts of movies, if not to enjoy then to learn how I might improve my own works. Writing scripts and comic treatments. Playing Starcraft once in a while. Catching up on great television. Reading short stories of any genre. Pie. An occasional night out with friends in the type of place where one can converse with another without yelling over the music. And Belgian waffles.

Music, Movies, and Books

Shawshank Redemption, The Sirens of Titan, Wilco, Beatles, TV on the Radio, Frightened Rabbit, She & Him, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Stephen King, Kurt Vonnegut, Dexter, Breaking Bad, Arrested Development.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I flew 3,000 miles from home on my own to start a new phase in my life, knowing only one person on the west coast. Also, I was recently on a cruise and standing outside at night, the only sound being the waves and the only light being the moon...breathtaking.

Teach, Learn, Share

Filmmaking background, recent film history, classic film history, writing exchange of ideas and advice. I'd like to learn your tips for establishing routine and discipline balanced with passion and work.
