ABOUT ME

Jan and I met in the Marine Corps and married five months later. We are now both retired Marine Corps officers. We celebrated our 30th anniversary in June of 2012. We have raised two beautiful children who are both in college. Joe is now a public school English teacher, and Jan has owned her consulting company for many years.

PHILOSOPHY

Physically: stay awake, stay busy.
Emotionally: moderate desires, except ice cream.
Intellectually: lifelong learning.
Spiritually: reflect, meditate, go within.

Interests

We both enjoy many activities and hobbies, including travel, yoga, working out, biking, reading, meeting new people, and experiencing new adventures. Jan enjoys cooking and sewing, in the most modern, progressive sense! Joe also likes photography.

Music, Movies, and Books

We have very broad tastes. Joe enjoys nonfiction and documentary, while Jan likes historical fiction and nonfiction.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Joe has come to deeply appreciate common, everyday events often missed by a busy humanity, such as a lone, isolated flower, drops of rain on pavement, a curious child, a fierce storm.

Teach, Learn, Share

Jan owns Leadership Solutions, a consulting company that focuses upon management and leadership development and coaching. She has a long list of major companies on her resume where she has developed strategies for improving productivity and communication and change management.

Joe is an English teacher and also a certified yoga teacher.
