About Me
CURRENT MISSION
I'm traveling in the SW for a couple months to escape the cold :) I live in my minivan, and I just need a place in someone's driveway to park overnight sometimes.
ABOUT ME
I grew up near Portland, Oregon. I traveled in Europe for 9 months after high school before attending university. Got my engineering degree and did the career thing for a few years before quitting in 2014 to hike the PCT; I've been living a more nomadic lifestyle ever since. My most recent homebase has been Moab, Utah.
PHILOSOPHY
One of my main philosophies is "life is customizeable". We all have the choice to do whatever we want with our lives; many of the things people perceive as obligations are in fact choices. I believe that if you're unsatisfied with the way you're living in life, you should make some changes until you're happy.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've hosted couchsurfers in my house several times, but I've never couchsurfed personally. I think it's awesome that we have this resource to bring people together :)

Music, Movies, and Books
From the age of 15 I have been interested in metal music, particularly the death/black/doom varieties; in more recent years I've also developed an interest in electronic music, especially psychedelic/ambient stuff, house, and other kinds of dance music.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I walked from Mexico to Canada, 2660 miles. It took 7 months between 2 summers. That was the most amazing thing I've done and if you hang out with me you'll realize I reference it pretty much every day.
I've also had some awesome times hitchhiking.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm interested in learning about local communities. What's your life like? Where do you hang out? What makes it unique? How do you meet people, where do the locals go?
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'm happy to share conversation, help out with anything around the house, cook a stirfry or two, and you can pick my brain about long-distance hiking or life on the road. If you've been through anything difficult in your life lately and need a sympathetic ear, I like to play therapist.
