One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I'm a bit of an adventure junkie so I usually go looking for something extreme to do. However, one of the most spontaneous and interesting experiences of my life was much more calm. While exploring the ancient capital city of Kyoto, Japan, I stumbled upon a Buddhist temple before it was due to close for the day. The monk who was there invited me inside and sat me opposite him upon the floor. Then, with the help of his intermediate speaking English aid and my trusty translation book, we discussed his religion over tea. It was a slightly odd but incredibly amazing experience.
