I'm Joel from Penang, Malaysia. I graduated from the background of Mass Communications in degree, and am currently working full time as a content writer.

I'm a singer. I can sing songs of different languages. For instance, Mandarin Chinese, Taiwanese Hokkien, English, Cantonese, Teowchew, Malay, Tamil, Thailand, Japanese, Korea and even Spanish. I have a diverse music taste and would love to share this interest to others too.

I'm the kind of person who's being extrovert and tend to be over-enthusiastic. My friends sometimes think that I'm eccentric, but according to them, they like the way I behave, just like me happy to be myself! I might be a little bit reserved at first, but I'm a very passionate and open-minded person. So I would guarantee, if we meet up, it won't take a longer time for us until we could mingle like old friends.

The interesting fact about travelling that appeals to me the most is that I enjoy making friends from all over the world, not only to broaden my exposure, but to study different cultures as well.

A Note To Surfers: As you know I'm a singer, please don't get agazed when you hear me randomly singing at anytime and anywhere. I could just casually sing whenever I want without even realizing it. So all you need to do is just to enjoy and praise me if you like to:)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am all about making new friends and networking around for meeting like minded people. I believe this app would be a best tool to help me achieve that.

Interests

I practice different kinds of interests to make my life colourful.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: I am fancy with both classical and pop genres, such as celtic, folks, bard songs, tavern, sendimental, rock, r&b, hip-hop and jazz.

Books: I read fictions, mostly romance, horror, fantasy and life adventure stories. For instance, C.S.Lewis, J.K.Rowling, Enid Blyton, Jodi Picoult, Stephen King and Danielle Steel are my all time favourite. Among all of them, Narnia and Harry Potter won my heart♥

Movies: I watch all sorts of movies, but I mostly prefer horror, comedy and fantasy.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Travel alone to a place where I could only communicate with people through body language as most of them don't speak English, nor other languages that I know. But it went well.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: I can teach abit about singing skills and techniques, and other things that I know.

Learn: I would love to learn everything, e.g. languages, cultures, foods, arts, dance moves, martial arts, general knowledge and much more.

Share: I can share my snacks and chocolates, foods, clothes (only for males, if you don't mind), life stories, a little bit of knowledge about media studies, and you can even speak your mind frankly to me if you need someone to share your burden.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Entertaining stories, musics, my genuine smile, a willingness to be engaged in any kinds of conversations, taking guests to different travel spots in Penang if I'm free, my snacks and chocolates.
