Hello!!, my name is Joel i am 24 years old and live in Canberra Australia.

I have learnt about the true value of travel after my first solo trip to Chile last year. I didnt want to be a traditional backpacker and spend my time partying and seeing the sights as i thought i coukd do those things at home and i wanted my journey to be unique.
I was offered by my boxing coach (when i use to do it.) The oppurtunity to host exercise classes for underpriviliged teenagers in chile, i jumped at the offer.

This experience taught me so much, i cant explain it here. I learnt through this though that there are other forms of education then purely a formal one. As all my previous fornal education i had done to please my parents and not really for myself.

So this year i am traveling the world because!
1) i am in love with the world and traveling it.
And 2) to discover a job i really want to do in life one i am excited to wake up every morning for!.

Back home i was the leading manager of a gym where i also worked as a youth worker helping teenagers with drug alchol and family abuse problems. This job taught me alot about people and life and how lucky some of us really are.

This might all sound very serious but if you think im a very serious person you would be mistaken, my humor is very silly and some cultures dont understand it, but will have fun anyway i am sure 😝. I am totally easy going...every one thinks im too easy going really but i like to have fun and live life we are only here for a short time! Lifes a party so lets soak up every single second and every single moment.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

This is my first time using couch surfing. I would love to see a city through the hosts eyes. My travel motto or quote is "when traveling i will always forget the things i have seen but i will never forget the things that i do."

I could see a national monument today but the impact of seeing the thing would probably be lost on me the next day unless it was truley impactful.
What i will remember for the rest of my life is the things i have done while i was traveling. Riding my bike with my freinds from the tip of argentina into brazil. Meeting a group of stranger's at a hostel then becoming freinds snd cooking with them later!. Living with a chilen family and trying to get use to their customs and way of life.

These are the things i will remember and these are the things i will never forget.

I am admittedly a total dork!. I love board games!. Anyone.

Be warned if you challenge me to a game of chess i will have to unashamedly destroy you. Hahaha.

Seriously any board game though. I also love cooking! One of my favourite things to do while traveling is to cook with new people and learn from them. ( oh but please dont expect me to be good. I love to cook with people so i can learn from them. Im not ready to teach many people anything yet!.)

I love travel and would love to experience a city through a locals eyes this is what i dmhave done everywhere i have gone and it is what i will continue to do. This is my type of pure snd authentic travel.

I love to exercise and i also love learning if you can speak spanish i may become slightly annoying trying to practice with you 😂😜.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love all sorts of books i use to be a total geek for fantasy type books and admitedly still am, but recently i have been trying to improve myself as a human being so i try and read mostly fsctusl books thst motivate or teach me to become a better person. So boring i know 😂

As for what music i listen to it totally depends on whst i am doing, if im taking it easy of course ill play some odesza or bob marley. If im working out of course some old school rap will come on maybe eminem jay z.

My top five movies number 1 being the greatest.
