About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Building my cycling accommodation business. Compassion and kindness.
ABOUT ME
I'm Joe, I'm a 25 year old Warwick uni graduate in the process of building a business. Born and raised in London, at 10 I moved to rural Southern France. Moved to Madrid at 18 for my final year of high school then spent a year before uni in Jordan. I graduated this year and am currently on a cycling trip riding down the Pacific Coast...wellat least thatwas the plan before breaking five ribs and ending up in hospital in Portland.
I'd say I'm super easy-going and really adaptable in difficult situations. I absolutely love couchsurfing for travelling alone. The feeling of having an awesome conversation over food and drink after a good day is like nothing!!
PHILOSOPHY
Live life in the moment! Happiness is not an ideal to strive for in the future but rather a state of mind in the present! Don't work a job you hate, to buy things you don't need, to impress people you don't like.
I love animals and don't eat them. :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Host and surf.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
For at least seven years now, we've hosted many many couchsurfers and had an amazing time. I've learnt so much growing up with a myriad of cultures and interesting people at our house. After all these years we haven't had one bad experience and have enjoyed every minute of it.
It's incredible how much you learn just by having people around. The way I see it is like travelling from home.

Music, Movies, and Books
Love oscar season watching all the films then judging for myself. A few favourites from this year: Dallas Buyers Club, Wolf of WS, Frances Ha.
Favourite last book I read: the secret race. On a more intellectual side I very much relish French postmodern philosophers such as Foucault, Derrida and Baudrillard.
Music, I love a wide selection of music. From rap to classical.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One? Really? Cycling in the Alps. Trekking in the desert in Jordan to Petra. Travelling to lapland in Finland in the middle of winter. Seeing NYC in the winter and under 2m of snow. Living in the Alps. Walking the Camino de Santiago
Teach, Learn, Share
As stated before I know a lot about bikes, cycling training, nutrition. I'm quite an obsessive person and so I like to know everything there is to know about it. I can give sound advice and help out with your bikes.
I always love learning more and discovering new things whatever they may be.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Languages, bike repairs, cooking, nutritional info.
