ABOUT ME

Well, I'm not the best in writing these things, but here goes: I'm 35, living in Rotterdam. I work as a storemanager at a storage company and ofcourse love to go on longer but also short trips to discover new places and people. I think you can't judge a person or place unless you've been there yourself. I love different cultures, and prefer to visit places and do things off the beaten path.
Besides travelling I watch about every movie that is released, and I also have about 950 dvd's. Further I love to drink a beer with friends, especially the great Belgian ones. Ofcourse you're welcome to join!
Making plans for next year, probably I will visit Iceland for the 4th time, Ukraine again and in autumn Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan.
I'd love to meet up with Russian speakers by the way!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I try to attend the CS meetings in Rotterdam, and when travelling I try to meet up with some fellow CSers aswell. I've also had a couple of surfers and hope to welcome some more in the future to show my city.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My first experience was a CS new years party a couple of years ago in Warsaw. A few months later I had my first two surfers from Warsaw for a return visit.
From then on I've had a couple of other surfers and I try to attend the weekly meeting in my hometown Rotterdam.

I'm a huge movie freak, I watch virtually everything except chick flicks and costume dramas and I have about 950 dvd's myself :)
About music: I usually prefer rock and metal, but besides that I listen to virtually everything.
It might surprise you since I work in a bookstore but I don't read that many books, I probably just see too many of them. ;) I do like to read travelstories, cookbooks and even travelguides, even of places I haven't been to (yet).

Iceland, a must-see!
Chernobyl, so strange to stand less than 200 meters from the reactor you only know from discovery channel.
Laos is definitely the most relaxed and beautiful country in SEA.
And my latest tip: Georgia. Gotta love that place, sheer natural beauty, lots of history, and teh friendliest people imaginable.

I like to share travelstories, opinions, or just a lot of total nonsense and have a good laugh.
If you're interested I could teach you some basic Dutch, how to get around the country and our neighbouring countries, some hidden secrets of my hometown Rotterdam, and also some tips about finding cheap transport around Europe. It's kind of my hobby to figure out great deals on tickets and places to stay. My friends actually often come to me for advice :)
The languag I would like to learn is Russian.
